59 Questions, questions, questionsMaking the decision to join a cycling club can be difficult, often times new members would like to ride with the club and meet current members before making the decision.  We of course encourage this approach, but we are also limited in terms of what we offer due to insurance limitations.

Below are a summary of possible situations.

Option 1 - Already a member of Cycling BC?

If you hold a 2010 Cycling BC license (including a BC Citizen license) and wish to drop-in, then you are already properly covered and may attend any of our club rides.  Come out and meet, greet and learn more about us.

Our only request is that if you make this a consistent habit (e.g. more than 3x a season), then you will need to become, at the minimum, an affiliate member of our club.

Club membership fees help us pay for a number of costs and without them we would not be able to put on events. Membership also has its privileges!  For example, full club members (options A & B) receive a complimentary jersey, so you can wear our club colors with pride. Jerseys are not included with an affiliate membership.

Option 2 -  Out of town, but hold a UCI license?

You hold a currently valid UCI license then you are covered and may attend a club ride.  If you just visiting, please attend the rides you find interesting.  If you have just moved to Vancouver, please come out and meet us, but as in option 1, if you are attending more than 3x a season we ask that you become a member of the club.

Option 3 - *Not* a member of Cycling BC or any other cycling organization?

In this case your options are a little more limited due to the fact you have no 3rd party liability insurance.   As such,  we are only allowed to provide one drop-in ride, to which you will need to sign Part 1 of the Cycling BC 2011 Waiver (attached below).  After that you will need to become a member of Cycling BC, and hopefully our club!
